Glock magazines are manufactured with a steel inner sleeve surrounded by an impact resistant polymer outer body and numbered sighting holes to verify the number of rounds in the magazine.
Glock's Gen 5 pistol came with an upgraded magazine. In addition to the gently rounded bottom plate, the Gen 5 magazine also includes a bright orange follower for faster and more reliable identification of empty magazines. Like all previous Glock magazines, Gen 5 magazines are backwards compatible with previous generations of Glock pistols.
NOTE: As with all Glock 9mm double stack magazines, low capacity pistols will accept high capacity magazines but not vice versa (eg a 17 round capacity G17 will accept 24 and 33 round magazines but will accept a 15 round magazine).
